A Simple Plan for a Sound Economy

This morning, I listened to an economist being interviewed over the current financial meltdown. When asked if we would recover, he said that eventually we would, but in the meantime we will have to revert to an "old-fashioned economy" (his words), where people do not buy everything on credit and where they will have to save before they purchase.

Sounds like a great plan to me!

Most all of us would be better off if we had only lived that way. But our economy in large part, sadly, has been built on people borrowing.

Absolutely! And my question is why aren't more Christians living a life of good stewardship and serving as an example of how to live a contented life that does not need more stuff?
